The dimensions in the DWG/ DXF files have a dual-meaning:

The first definition states that the actual dimension definition (for linear dimensioning) consists of 5 points which uniquely determine the position of the dimension (the first two points determine the dimensioned distance, the next two, 3 & 4, determine the position of the auxiliary line, and the last point, 5, determines the position of the dimensioning text).

The appearance of the dimension results from the definition of the dimensioning style.

The second definition states that the dimension is also displayed in the DWG/ DXF files as a block with the characteristic name * Dnnn. This block contains the drawing of the dimension.

To avoid redefinition of the elements of the “dimension”, you can use the function „Convert Dimensions to Blocks“. This will delete all dimension definitions and make the dimension blocks visible in the drawing.

Using this interface DWG/ DXF blocks can be exploded into the origin elements.

Using this interface, bothersome DWG/ DXF groups can be exploded into their original elements
